The story begins in Pennsylvania, where an old red barn is meticulously taken down and all materials are sorted to breath life into new projects. The reclaimed White Oak was milled and fabricated in our shop and transformed into the banquettes, cabinetry, host stand and bar which can be seen at the Contigo Kitchen + Cava in Noe Valley, San Francisco.
In 2009, a grove of Eucalyptus was slated for removal due to the Presidio Parkway construction on the southern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. Rather than lose the historic trees, located in the San Francisco Presidio, Green Waste Recycle Yard salvaged the Eucalyptus and prepared the logs for milling. Exotic Hardwoods and Veneer milled the logs into thin sheets of veneer. A local couple, living in the San Francisco Marina, valued the local history and handpicked the veneer to be used for their custom dining table. Their Eucalyptus veneer dining table is inlaid with Wenge and framed with solid Quarter Sawn White Oak.
